Corn Dogs
Ingredients:
- 1 pound package hot dogs
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sale
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons melted shortening
- Shortening or cooking oil
Directions:
- Pat hog dogs dry.
- If desired, cut into 3 pieces and insert toothpick in end.
- Mix egg, milk and shortening and add this to the cornmeal mixture.
- Mix well.
- Roll hot dogs in batter and place into hot oil.
- Fry for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Notes: Serve with honey mustard, yum!
