Lasagna
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 1/2 cups tomatoes
- 1 package dry spaghetti sauce mix
- 1/2 pound mozzerella cheese, sliced
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 - 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1/2 pound lasagne noodles
- 1/2 pound cottage cheese
Directions:
- Brown meat in heavy skillet.
- Add seasoned salt, garlic and pepper.
- Simmer for 10 minutes
- Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce mix.
- Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Boil lasagne noodles in salted water until tender.
- Drain and rinse.
- Pour 1/3 of the meat sauce into a 12 x 8 x 2 baking dish.
- Cover with lasagne noodles.
- Arrange slices of mozzerella and cottage cheese over noodles.
- Repeat the layers, ending with the meat sauce.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Notes: My grandmother first made this recipe when she moved to Chicago. It has been a family favorite for years.
