Savory Rice Pilaf
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 small onion, chopped (About 1/4 cup)
- 1 cup uncooked regular long grain rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Melt margarine in saucepan over medium heat.
- Add onion and cook about 3 minutes or until tender.
- Stir in the rice and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Stir in the chicken broth and salt.
- Heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 16 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes, covered.
